Neudesic has announced that it is working with Microsoft Corp. to build HIPAA 4010 and 5010 solutions for healthcare payers and providers on the Microsoft BizTalk Server platform.
At the AHIP health plans trade show this week in San Diego, Calif., Neudesic will debut a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server-based portal demonstration for 4010 / 5010 claims viewing, expediting and remediation, with BizTalk Server performing the back-end processing. Utilizing this system, claims can be reviewed in a queue; sluggish claims can be expedited; missing data can be located; and other flaws can be corrected. User collaboration and escalation is simple, and based on highly customizable business rules. Trading partner integration for payers and providers is also possible, including all HIPAA and HL7 integration requirements.
Covered entities that use these new ICD-10 code sets and HIPAA transactions include; health plans, healthcare clearinghouses and healthcare providers who transmit any health information in electronic form in connection with a transaction for which a U.S. Health and Human Services Department standard has been adopted. It is Neudesic’s intention to make its Microsoft-based solution upgradeable and seamless as possible for its clients.
“We’ve worked hard with partners like Neudesic to ensure that we can enable cost-effective and timely HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10 compliance for our customers,” said Hector Rodriguez, U.S. Health Plans Industry Technology Strategist, Microsoft Corp. “Neudesic’s technical expertise and implementation successes are a key component of helping provide pre-built solutions that can cut software implementation costs and ensure compliance.”
