IRVINE, CA | March 10, 2021– Neudesic, a nationally recognized business and technology consulting firm, today announced the expansion of their Energy and Utility Leadership Team with the hire of Tom Mercadante to lead portfolio management and delivery for their North America’s Eastern Region.
“Sustained growth has unlocked new opportunities for us to add world-class talent to our global team,” said Michael Brown, vice president, Energy and Utilities Strategy and Development for Neudesic. “Tom brings with him tremendous industry domain experience and a customer-centric approach that aligns equally to both our client delivery model and growth ambitions.”
Tom joins Neudesic with 13 years of utility experience across various capacities, both industry and consulting. For the past 2 years, Tom served as a Consulting Manager for one of the Big Four’s Digital Grid Practice, overseeing complex integrations for core systems like Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) at some of North America’s largest fully integrated utilities.
Prior to consulting, Tom spent over a decade at one of the world’s largest utilities with service areas including New York City and Westchester County, N.Y., where he held several positions of increasing responsibility within electric operations. Most notably, he was responsible for building and managing their AMI Operations Center.
“Neudesic’s broad portfolio of industry clients, solutions, service offerings, and alliances, make it a very exciting place to build the next phases of my career,” commented Tom. “My passion for delivering people-centric technologies is met here by an outstanding solution development team- the right combination of expertise to help our clients succeed as they face significant changes like energy transition in a post-Covid19 world.”
Tom, a native New Yorker, is a two-time graduate of NYU- first earning his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, and most recently an MBA from the prestigious Stern School of Business. In Tom’s spare time, he enjoys both watching and playing tennis. He is also passionate about volunteer work and finds many great opportunities to support community through NYCares – his favorite being tennis lessons at a local grammar school near his home in Brooklyn.
Neudesic is selected as the systems integrator and technology consulting partner of choice by energy and utility firms because of their strong history in building solution IP and accelerators that solve complex industry challenges. “The designs of our solutions are intended to simplify the deployment of technology so that our utility clients can quickly realize business impact, without having to worry about the daunting evaluations of cloud services, or the task of hiring specific skillsets for the job,” said Mike Rossi, head of strategic growth for Neudesic. “Whether we’re driving strategic value from a smart meter deployment, helping to predict asset failure and impact, or minimizing financial risk with improved revenue collection and credit decisions, our investments help keep our clients focused on use cases, results, and ultimately value back to their organization and shareholders.”
